What is Federal skilled Trades program?
The Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP) is one of the programs that is managed by the Express Entry immigration system. The FSTP is designed for foreign trade workers with work experience in eligible trade occupations to immigrate to Canada.
What does federal skilled worker mean?
Federal Skilled Workers are persons with suitable education, work experience, age and language abilities under one of Canada’s official languages and who are selected under the Express Entry Immigration system to apply for permanent residence.
What is the difference between federal skilled worker and Express Entry?
FSW is a category of immigration, Express Entry is a system for applying. To begin, the difference between the FSW class and Express Entry is that while FSW is in fact a program for permanent residence, Express Entry is not.

How do you get nominated by a province in Canada?
There are two ways to apply:

- If the province or territory agrees to nominate you, you create an Express Entry profile (or update your profile if you already have one) and show you have been nominated.
How do you get nominated in Ontario?
In order to initially receive the Ontario nomination, you must be selected via an OINP EOI draw after submitting an Expression of Interest to the province. Being nominated at the provincial level will add 600 points to your Canada Express Entry Comprehensive Ranking Score, also called the Express Entry CRS.

Is Express Entry and PR same?
If you fill out a profile for Express Entry, your application will be ranked according to a points system. If you are highly ranked, you will be invited to apply for permanent residence as a skilled immigrant. Once you have applied, your PR application will then be processed within the next 6 months.
