This route takes in the stunning scenery of Dundrum Bay from the vantage point at Dundrum Castle to the 6000 year old sand dune system at Murlough Beach and finally on to the bustling seaside resort of Newcastle.

Can you drive onto Murlough beach?

Instead of the fob system the gate will open between 8.30am and 4.30pm but there will no access to cars outside these times. Pedestrians will still be able to walk into the reserve at any time.

The Murlough Nature Trail is approximately 2.5 miles long and starts and finishes in the National Trust car park. The trail initially follows the main visitor walkway, Slidderyford Path, to Murlough Beach. After a short walk along the beach one enters the Central Reserve via the Archaeology Path.
