Users swim at their own risk, however, as the beach at Elbow Lake is unsupervised. Finger docks at the waterfront provide an ideal launching point for our fleet of nine tandem canoes, all of which are available for use by registered guests from May through October.

Elbow Lake has a high population of five fish species: walleye, northern pike, crappie, smallmouth bass, and sunfish. The Minnesota DNR stocks our lake every spring with delicious walleye, arguably our state’s prized fish.

Start the Crypt Lake Hike by taking a 20-minute ferry ride across Upper Waterton Lake from the marina to Crypt Landing. Although the trailhead is also approachable by hiking – a level trail on the eastern shoreline – save yourself the added 9.3mi trek and take the ferry.
