What is maritime training center?
The school offers degree courses as Bachelor of Technology Management and Marine Engineering as well as Ships assistant (seaman), Energytechnology, Shipsmachinist and a wide array of courses within maritime subjects, offshore safety and technical courses. MARTEC also operates the danish national Training ship DANMARK.

How long is the basic seaman training?
You will experience the full courses of Basic Training in about 5 days. You will learn theoretical and practical assessments on all four modules. You will learn the basics of fire prevention and fire fighting which is very important on board.

This process is based on, but not restricted to, the on-site verification of:

How can I become a seaman in the Philippines?
You can apply for a Seaman’s Book at MARINA, where you will need to submit the following requirements:
- High school diploma (for high school graduates)
- Transcript of Records (for college graduates)
- Birth Certificate.
- NBI Clearance.
- Certificate of Authentication/Verification from CHED or DepEd.
