The Melting Point was designed to honor the Foundry’s roots, where blacksmiths crafted fine works such as the UGA Arch and the Double-Barreled Cannon. The Melting Point’s atmosphere reflects this attention to detail and dedication to craft- now artisans perform their craft on stage.

Exposed bricks and original masonry from the 1850’s survive to this day. Our owners wanted to preserve this piece of Athens history and let it live on to inspire new artists. The multi-tiered structure offers a myriad of seating options fine tuned to meet the needs of each show. Soaring twenty-two foot high beams in the ceiling, play off the new garage doors along the mezzanine that invite the outside in. Music fans are never more than 53 feet from the stage with clear views and ideal acoustics.

Where are you located?

Our address is 295 E. Dougherty St. Athens, Ga 30601.  We are located on the grounds of the Foundry Park Inn & Spa at the corner of Thomas St. and Dougherty St. in downtown Athens, Georgia. Doors typically open at 6:00 p.m. for the show.

When is your box office open?

Advance ticket purchases can be made on our website, over the phone, at the registration desk of the Foundry Park Inn and Spa. Our box office phone number 706.254.6909 will be open M-F 9-5. Please note that the box office at the Melting Point entrance is open half an hour before the doors open on show nights. Tickets may be purchased in person at the box office window.

Why do you charge a service fee at your box office? 

Most (if not all) of the ticket money goes to the bands, which have high overhead/travel costs of their own. The service fee covers part of the overhead costs involved in staffing and running a box office seven days a week and every show night, and is intended to help cover the costs of labor, ticketing software fees, credit card fees, phone charges, box office equipment, etc. We make every effort to keep this service charge as low as possible.

Do I need to bring my ID?

Yes, a valid government issued ID is required for admittance. A state driver’s license or passport is acceptable. All shows are 18+ unless otherwise stated. Please bring your ID, no matter how old you think you look.

Do you have an ATM? 

There is an ATM located at the Registration House at the Foundry Park Inn and Spa (just next door), but we do accept credit and debit cards at our box office and bar.

Can you hold me a ticket?

Our ticketing system is set up to allow advance purchase of tickets at our box office. You may purchase tickets on-line or by phone with an additional surcharge. We are unable to “hold” tickets unless you purchase them first and leave them at will-call.

When will the show start/end?

All of our show times are posted on our website. We do our best to make sure start times are adhered to. Unfortunately, delays sometimes happen. The end of a set is at the discretion of the performing act (although we contract them for a minimum set length – anywhere from 45 minutes to 90 minutes, depending on the act). We have a midnight curfew, although some shows occasionally run later.

Where do I park when I come to the Melting Point?

We have our own parking lot. Sometimes we will provide a parking attendant to help you find the closest space available. However, like other downtown businesses, we rely on street parking (free after 6pm!) event parking just behind the Foundry Park Inn and Spa, and several city lots. Note: On home game football weekends, parking will be extremely limited. Event parking and city lots become pay lots.

The show is sold out; will you be releasing any tickets?

No, some places do this, we don’t. Many times, people purchase tickets in advance for friends who couldn’t make it. If a show is sold out, you may have luck finding a ticket at the door.

Is there food?

The Melting Point boasts a full service restaurant within the venue. We offer table side service throughout the venue and on the patio when the weather is nice. Our kitchen is open daily at 3 p.m. and closes at 10 p.m. and weekdays and 11 p.m. weekends. On Fridays and Saturdays, the Melting Point opens for at 12pm for lunch service. Table seating is limited and available on a first come first serve basis. Check our menu!

Do you take table reservations?

For select shows, we sell a number of tables in advance, but other than those situations, we do not take reservations. All of our table seating is available on a first come first serve basis. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. for most of our shows and we encourage guests arrive early to select specific seating arrangements. Some shows are seated, some standing. Please check the event info to determine what kind of show you will be attending. Seating is limited and a ticket does not ensure you will have a seat. We do our best to accommodate the crowd that is expected and we try to offer as much seating as possible. Tables of 6 or more will be charged an automatic 18% gratuity on their food and beverage.

Where can we smoke?

Smoking is not permitted at all inside the Melting Point. We have an outdoor patio with a view of the stage for smoking.

Can I go in and out?

For most shows, we allow “in and out” privileges after the show begins. If a patron abuses their privilege, they may be asked to remain in the club or lose admission, or they may be asked to leave for the evening and return at another time. If you plan to leave and return, make sure your stamp is clear or your armband is intact. We will not admit people with torn armbands or illegible stamps..

Where’s the bathroom?

The bathrooms are past the bar in the pub. Additional bathrooms are located on the balcony and by the ticketing counter.

Lost and Found?

If you lose an item at the Melting Point, please contact our box office phone M-F 9-5 706.254.6909 to report your missing item.  you can also email meltingpoint@foundryparkinn.com. Please leave a description of your item and contact information.  If your item is found, you will be contacted.  The Melting Point is open at 3 pm daily if you would like to stop in to report a missing item.  The Melting Point will not be held responsible for any lost items, but we will do eveything we can to return property to it’s rightful owner.
